Where Dental Technology, Esthetics And Skills Meet

NICD offers a range of oral health services – some that you’d typically have to visit a specialist to receive. We’re proud to be able to perform most of your preventive, cosmetic, restorative, orthodontic, periodontal, endodontic, surgical and prosthodontic procedures right here in our office. That leads to a full-service, comprehensive and cohesive approach to your dental care that saves you time and headaches.
Our job is to diagnose, treat and manage your overall oral health and cosmetic dental needs at every stage of life. This includes fillings, root canals, crowns, veneers, bridges, extractions, bone grafts, gum grafts, gingival (gum) treatment, partial and full dentures, implants for missing teeth, tooth whitening, Invisalign and teeth straightening, TMJ treatment and equilibration, snoring and sleep apnea appliances, oral cancer screenings and preventive education.
If you’re interested in finding out about cosmetic restoration or smile design, you’ve come to the right place. We believe in providing patients with a thorough oral consultation that emphasizes listening to their desires and needs. That’s followed by a written rationale, which outlines treatment options to reach the optimal, agreed upon results. In addition to his extensive background as an esthetic dental educator, Dr. Sesemann has a long history of being a consultant for dental product manufacturers and equipment companies. This adds up to a customized plan for each patient that is centered on predictable and beautiful results.
Our hygienists are on the front line when it comes to recognizing and preventing oral disease and dental decay. Oral hygiene and preventive services include X-rays, scans and exams to review the condition of your dentition, charting of existing and planned treatment, removal of calculus ad plaque, cleaning and polishing of tooth surfaces, application of sealants and fluorides to prevent decay, treatment of bad breath, care of soft tissues, treatment of gum disease, screening for oral cancers and general oral health education.
We use low-level radiation X-rays to capture images of the interior of your teeth, gums and jawbone in order to monitor oral health, tooth growth and bone development and to identify problems like cavities, tooth decay, infection, tooth root status, impacted teeth, bone deterioration and other forms of oral disease.
We are proud to offer this advanced form of three-dimensional computerized scanning in our office. This specialized technology allows us to view highly detailed images of your dentition, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone structure that allows more precise diagnosis and treatment planning. CBCT scans are particularly helpful in determining the accurate placement of implants, removing impacted wisdom teeth, creating orthodontic plans, providing complex root canal treatment, monitoring aberrant tooth eruption patterns, treating TMJ issues and detecting head and neck cancers.
At NICD, we use the latest dental materials and highly skilled lab partners to deliver strong and beautiful dental solutions, including: Crowns, which are natural looking prosthetic teeth that cover the entire surface of a real tooth above the gum line and can be used for dental health or cosmetic purposes. Bridges, which are prosthetic teeth that adhere to neighboring dentition and span the gap left by missing natural teeth. Veneers, which are thin dental prosthetics created from porcelain or ceramic that are designed to enhance the size, shape or color of your teeth without adding bulk.
Aided by the detailed planning capabilities of our CBCT 3-D scanner, we are able to provide accurately guided surgical placement of dental implants as permanent solutions to missing teeth. Implants are placed in your jawbone, where they bond with your bone and act as artificial tooth roots. After a period of healing, implants provide a sturdy base of support for one or more tooth-like crowns. Often used in combination with bone grafts, dental implants have the added benefit of promoting bone growth through the ossification process, which ebbs bone loss and strengthens the jaw. Your implants should have the strength and durability to feel and function like natural teeth.

We perform bone grafting to replace bone loss in the jaw as a result of tooth loss, infection, decay, injury or trauma. It is a particularly common procedure used to regenerate bone loss and restore facial contour before the placement of an implant. If needed, Dr. Sesemann will discuss bone grafting options with you to determine what course of action is right for your situation.

We are proud to offer some of the most beautiful and distortion-free dentures and partials available, crafted by Arian Deutsch, CDT, of Deutsch Dental Arts, whose work can be seen at www.deutschlab.com
With 30 years of experience in the field of comprehensive and esthetic dental restoration, NICD is uniquely trained to help people in need of complex oral rehabilitation. The process could involve any combination of fixed or removable prosthodontics, such as crowns, veneers, implants and bridges, and may include orthodontia and/or oral surgeries. Successful completion of a full-mouth restoration relies on a system of checks and balances that must be properly coordinated to result in solutions that are functional, comfortable and natural looking.

Tori bump removal, tooth extraction, surgical implant placement, gum tissue grafting and bone grafting are among the surgical procedures performed at NICD.
We perform a number of root canals at NICD, helping patients retain teeth that would otherwise need to be removed due to infection that has entered the root through a deep cavity or damaged filling. The procedure can also be a treatment for trauma, as in the case of a front tooth injury. During a root canal, the infected pulp is removed. The canal system is cleaned, disinfected, dried, filled with sanitary material and then sealed off. The final step is to fill the tooth with a composite filling or place an indirect restoration such as a crown.

We regularly provide deep cleaning, which includes scaling to remove tarter from the tooth surface and gum pockets and root planing to remove plaque and tarter from the surface of the roots.

Other periodontal services include:

  • Crown lengthening
  • AlloDerm gum tissue grafting
  • Gingivoplasty alteration of the gum tissue to enhance the appearance of natural dentition and/or dental restorations
NICD creates custom-fit our bleach trays for our patients that may be filled with different strengths of bleach gel to achieve the desired whitening outcome.
Dr. Sesemann is extensively trained and highly regarded in the area of Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ) assessment and occlusal treatment. In fact, he teaches the TMJ segment of the course on occlusion at the Kois Center for Dental Excellence in Seattle.
NICD is trained in the use of fillers to enhance lips and cheeks and to reduce the appearance of facial lines and folds. These products include Juvederm, Voluma and Vollure, with new products being vetted for use as they become available.
Sleep apnea, often signified by snoring, is a dangerous condition that causes fatigue and can contribute to a number of health issues including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer and more. Used regularly oral sleep devices from NICD can prevent snoring and sleep apnea.
